Common Issues

Stethoscope issues

My stethoscope isn’t working.

1. Ensure the battery is installed properly in the stethoscope.

2. Make sure the stethoscope is connected to the phone with the blue cable found inside the kit. The LED should light up briefly once connected.

Note: If LED doesn’t light up, there’s likely an issue with your phone’s headphone port. Contact your phone manufacturer for more details.

3. Make sure you have downloaded and logged into the app.

4. Once stethoscope is plugged in, try turning up the headphone volume.

5. Try re-plugging the stethoscope.

I can’t capture my heart or lung sounds.

Ensure your stethoscope is working and connected using the blue cable, and try again in a quiet environment.

Please place stethoscope as instructed in the app user interface.

The LED light is flashing more quickly than usual.

This is a low battery signal, please change batteries at your earliest convenience.

I can’t use other apps with the CliniCloud Stethoscope.

The device is only designed to be used with the CliniCloud app.

Thermometer Issues

My thermometer isn’t working.

1. Ensure both batteries are installed properly in the Thermometer.

2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

3. Make sure you have downloaded and logged into the app.

4. Enter the Temperature applet – the thermometer LED should light up.

5. During the scan, the thermometer LED should flash intermittently.

6. If this doesn’t work, try resetting the thermometer by reinstalling the batteries.

I’m getting an inaccurate temperature.

Ensure you are scanning the forehead correctly. The thermometer takes multiple readings during the scan, and displays only the highest reading.

I have multiple thermometers.

Great! If they are both within your Bluetooth range, you will be prompted in the app which thermometer you wish to pair with. Follow on-screen prompts to choose the right one.

I can’t pair with the thermometer.

You don’t need to pair to use the thermometer. Do not attempt to pair with the device.

I can’t use other apps with the CliniCloud thermometer.

The device is only designed to be used with the CliniCloud app.


Which mobile OS does CliniCloud support?

CliniCloud will work with iOS and Android (4.3+) on the shipment date. The app is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Is the app free?

Yes, the app is free to download. Additional service charges apply for doctor consultations.

Which languages are supported?

We currently only support English.

Will there be more features and updates to the app?

Yes! We have big plans to improve the app and software to make managing healthcare even easier. Watch this space for future upcoming updates.

Do you have an API?

We are working on it. In the meantime, we love to hear from developers. Tell us what you need at We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Can my data connect into Apple HealthKit?

Yes if you choose to, however the Health App only allows for one account so only data from one CliniCloud account can be synced.


Are non-contact thermometers accurate?

Yes, the infrared sensors is in non-contact thermometers scan the superficial temporal artery which runs across the forehead. They have an equivalent accuracy to in-ear thermometers. Similar technology is also used in airports to screen for infectious diseases.

Why isn’t the stethoscope wireless?

Bluetooth connections have very limited bandwidth. By using a wired connection, the CliniCloud stethoscope can record diagnostic high quality audio (44.1kHz) directly onto a smartphone, without lossy compression or frequency filters.

What’s the warranty policy?

CliniCloud’s products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date it is shipped. For more information, checkout your manual or click here to read the manual online.

What is CliniCloud’s regulatory and QA status?

CliniCloud is manufactured to the highest ISO and CFR quality standards and adheres to the calibration standards set forth by CE and FDA for Class II medical devices.

Can I change the batteries?

Yes, the thermometer uses 2 AAA batteries and the stethoscope uses a standard coin cell (CR2032).

Do the devices emit harmful radiation?

Definitely not! The only wireless technology used is Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) which is used with connecting the thermometer to your smart device


How does a professional opinion for my recordings help me?

A fever, cough or wheeze can be just a common cold or something more serious. A professional opinion can determine whether it is something that can be treated with simple meds at home, or a more serious condition that needs to be attended to in the ER.

How common are respiratory conditions?

Respiratory illnesses are the most common reason for visiting the doctor, with 100M+ visits per year in the US alone. For children under 2 years of age, 1 in 3 will visit the ER for breathing problems at some point.

How does the telemedicine feature work?

Telemedicine makes your recordings accessible to a doctor, who can assess your condition remotely. For example, a doctor will be able to listen to your chest sounds, a crucial part of diagnostics for respiratory issues.

Do consultations from Doctor On Demand™ require an additional fee?

Yes, there will be a fee from Doctor On Demand. For more details, check Doctor on Demand


Will I be able to share my health information with my own doctor?

Yes! You will be able to share your history of recordings with your own physicians via Email or SMS. They will receive a link to a web portal to access this information.

Will CliniCloud work without a smartphone?

Unfortunately, not this point.

Will I need to be connected to the Internet to use CliniCloud?

No, the app works without an Internet, but some features are unavailable offline (e.g. cloud sync, telemedicine)

What are the advantages in connecting devices to a smartphone?

You can record a history of vitals and recordings, which can be useful to monitor progress of symptoms. This is particularly important for diagnosis, which depends on knowing a history of vitals, not just a point in time. Importantly, this information can be shared with a physician remotely, as if you were there in person.

Will my data be secure?

Yes. All cloud server storage will be HIPAA compliant.

Can I sync to more than one phone?

Your CliniCloud account can be accessed from multiple phones.

Will there be different colors available?

Not yet. This is definitely something we’ll consider for the near future.

Do you currently offer support in languages other than English?

The iOS and Android app currently are in English only with language updates for French and Chinese coming shortly.
